Step-by-Step Adult CPR
Check Responsiveness
Gently shake the person and shout. Ensure the scene is safe and the person is unresponsive before starting CPR.
Call 911
If alone, call emergency services immediately. If possible, get an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
Chest Compressions
Place hands in the center of the chest. Push hard and fast, about 100–120 compressions per minute, depth 2–2.5 inches.
Rescue Breaths
After 30 compressions, give 2 rescue breaths if trained. Ensure chest rises. Continue cycles until help arrives.
