Step-by-Step Infant & Child CPR
Check Responsiveness
Gently tap the infant or child and shout. Make sure the area is safe before proceeding.
Call 911
Call emergency services immediately. If alone, perform CPR first then call. Use an AED if available.
Chest Compressions
For infants: 2 fingers in center of chest, compress ~1.5 inches. For children: use one or two hands, compress ~2 inches.
Rescue Breaths
After 30 compressions, give 2 gentle breaths for infants and children. Ensure chest rises. Repeat cycles until help arrives.
