Check Responsiveness
Gently tap the child and speak to them. Ensure the area is safe before assisting.
Call 911
If choking persists or the child becomes unconscious, call emergency services immediately.
Back Blows
Stand behind the child and give 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades using the heel of your hand.
Chest Thrusts
Follow the back blows with 5 chest thrusts using one or two hands, depending on the child's size. Repeat cycle until object is expelled.
